An Inside View of the Veterans Benefits Claims Process
After ten years of the United States’ military engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan, most Americans have heard about the types of wounds that Veterans are facing-and surviving-with head injuries being the most common. What most people don’t know about is the staggering number of injuries that are taking place.
The Congressional Research Service, a branch of the Federation of American Scientists, issued a report in September 2010, stating that, as of that month, Operations New Dawn, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom had resulted in a total of 178,000 brain injuries, 87,000 cases of PTSD and 1,600 amputations. See: Veterans Disability Benefits
While modern medical technology is saving more lives than ever before in military history, the result is that our men and women who serve overseas are often left with debilitating, if not lifetime, health problems. In addition to the physical and emotional burdens they must carry, returning Veterans frequently find themselves shocked by the financial impact of recovery. In many cases, the veterans may need an advocate, such as a veterans benefits lawyer, to help them pursue the compensation and benefits they deserve.
Dangerous Drugs and Workers Rights Go Hand and Hand March 2012

Shire is taking aim at Johnson & Johnson’s ($JNJ) Concerta. The Irish drugmaker is sponsoring two head-to-head trials pitting its ADHD drug Vyvanse against the J&J product as a treatment for adolescents with the disorder. But it’s not just J&J’s branded product in Shire’s sights. Generic versions of Concerta are already on the market, and if Shire can’t make a better case for Vyvanse, then it stands to lose sales to those cheaper rivals.
Head-to-head trials are always a gamble; just think of AstraZeneca’s ($AZN) Crestor-vs.-Lipitor trial, Saturn, in which the AZ drug failed to beat Pfizer’s ($PFE) on the primary endpoint. Or Merck’s test of Vytorin against Zocor in Enhance, which also backfired. Shire does have some indication Vyvanse could edge out Concerta. It recently wrapped up an 8-week Vyvanse trial with a Concerta reference arm, and even though the study wasn’t designed to compare the two drugs–it was placebo-controlled–“the data do suggest … further investigation,” the company said in a statement. See :
One of the planned trials will be dose-optimized, and the other will use a fixed-dosing schedule. Together, they’ll comprise 1,000 patients, with results forthcoming by the second half of next year. “These studies are important to further our understanding of the possible differences in efficacy between Vyvanse and Concerta in treating adolescents with ADHD,” Dr. Jeffrey Jonas, senior VP of R&D, said in a statement.
For 2011, Vyvanse turned in $805 million in sales. Concerta brought in $1.4 billion in 2010, its last full year without generic competiton. Besides looking for an edge in ADHD, Shire is studying Vyvanse as an add-on treatment for depression, and it’s pushing the drug into new markets, with a regulatory filing in Europe (under the brand name Venvanse) and a launch in Brazil (also as Venvanse).

Oscar Party: Attorney Gloria Allred and Ginger White to attend together
Woman Who Alleged That She Had a Thirteen-Year Affair with Presidential Hopeful Herman Cain to Walk the Red Carpet with Gloria Allred
Attorney Gloria Allred will walk the red carpet with her guest, Ginger White, at the Night of 100 Stars Oscar Party on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the Crystal Ballroom at the Beverly Hills Hotel at 9641 Sunset Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA, at 4:00 P.M. PST.
Ms. Allred previously represented Sharon Bialek who was the first woman to reveal her face and name and publicly allege that Herman Cain had made inappropriate sexual advances to her when she sought his assistance in obtaining employment. Ms. Bialek was verbally attacked by some of Cain’s supporters after she came forward. Ms. White then decided to go public with her allegation of a thirteen year affair with Mr. Cain, because she felt that it was unfair that the credibility of Ms. Bialek and other women were being questioned and she felt that it was important that the public know the truth.
Ms. Allred invited Ms. White to be her guest at the Oscar Party in order to honor her for her courage and her willingness to support other women.
Most if not all were media related employees. In psychology terms isnt this woman just a little egomaniacal ? How much media and attention does one person need before its just too overboard.

Everyone does this – she just has a more impressive list of contacts than most.
It’s recommended that if you’re any sort of organization or person of note (even if it’s modest note) to boost your pr through a free press release. … More
